BrightWood Custom Cabinet Delivery Information

We deliver to most areas in the lower 48 states with some restrictions.

Shipping

We deliver cabinets to most locations from Maine to California at no extra charge. KitchenPlace has delivered to every one of the lower 48 states. We have a ten cabinet minimum order, meaning we do not ship less than ten cabinets. Most kitchens will have more than ten cabinets. Some of our cabinet deliveries are made by a tractor trailer truck 65 ft. long and 13 1/2' high; so you must be sure a truck of this size can reach your location: no low overheads (including wires, trees, bridges, etc.), no tight one way streets, all roads must be paved, and ample legal parking is a must. We cannot deliver via island ferry, and do not make overseas deliveries. We can deliver to a shipping company if you wish to ship your cabinets to a coastal U.S. island or an inner city. If we deliver to such a shipping company, you must make the arrangements with that shipper to have your cabinets brought to your final location. At this time we do not ship to locations outside of the USA.

The delivery service is a tailgate service. This means the delivery driver will bring the items to the back of the truck. You will need to provide at least two able body people to take the cabinets off the truck and into your home. Cabinets can be large heavy objects so the people you obtain to unload should be able to carry and maneuver items like this. Please note that the truck has no lift gate. You unload from the bed of the truck.

When we give you a schedule for your deliver, it will be an approximate window of time when the truck will arrive. This is often a 3-4 hour window. Due to distances, traffic, road construction, and/or previous delivery issues the driver cannot completely control his schedule. Please be aware that you must have two able body people available to unload when the truck arrives.

There are sometimes instances when it is impossible for our large truck to reach an inner city or remote job-site location. In these few instances, we may have to make special shipping arrangements for your delivery, and there will be a site delivery fee.

Truck Cannot Deliver

If you have any doubt that a truck may not be able to deliver to you, it is mandatory to discuss this with us before you order your cabinets. If you purchase cabinets from us you agree to be financially responsible for any and all additional shipping and/or storage costs that arise when a truck attempts to deliver and cannot reach your location.

Inspect During Delivery

With our professional furniture drivers, damage is extremely rare. We do not warehouse cabinets. Your cabinets are loaded at the factory and delivered directly to your location (less handling is best). If you unload a damaged item from our delivery truck, you must make a note of the damaged item on the packing slip before signing off, and we will see to it that any problems are corrected. Call us on the day of delivery to report any damage so that we can speed up and monitor the replacement process.

Upon delivery, it is the customer's responsibility to inspect all items for signs of damage. This is especially critical if a wrapper or box shows signs of damage. Any damaged or missing piece must be noted on the driver's packing list before you sign for delivery. Minor damage (a minor scratch or ding) can be easily taken care in the field using the free touch-up kit included with your order. Please call us at 774-355-3580 to report missing or damaged items as soon as possible. Any item missing or damaged in shipping will be replaced.

Check For Missing Items

Missing items are extremely rare. To avoid problems during delivery you are responsible to check items as they are unloaded to make sure everything is delivered to you. This process should be done by a responsible person. Each package will have a label. That label identification information will be on the packing list that the driver has. As items are unloaded, you should match the item label to the list and check mark the item on the list that you have received it. If an item is missing from the list. You must mark that item as missing. If you sign the packing slip, you will be acknowledging that all items are delivered unless you have noted otherwise on that slip.

If an item is missing AND you noted that on the packing slip before you signed for delivery and before the driver leaves, you will receive a replacement. Call us immediately to get the replacement process rolling.

Storing Cabinets

If you plan to store your cabinets before installing them, you must inspect the cabinets prior to storage. Although damage is rare, we expect you to notify us of any damage on the day of delivery. Always store cabinets in a controlled atmosphere. Do not store cabinets in an area with extreme changes in temperature or humidity (like a garage or trailer). Storing cabinets improperly can void your cabinet warranty and cause considerable damage to them.

Caution

DO NOT INSTALL ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. CALL 774-355-3580 IMMEDIATELY FOR PROMPT ACTION. Items that are damaged and installed do not qualify for replacement.
